The Hammer-blow

Epistolary Raven stood in the Teleportarium of the Strike Cruiser "Vengeance from on High" and relaxed his mind. Around him were gathered the members of the squad of Terminators that Commander Helios' battle-plan called for, their Lightening claws and Thunder Hammers destined to strike at the strongest part of the battle line in a tactic Helios had called the Hammer-blow

Malechta's Treatise upon the Line of Saro. Part 1

Fifty Third Volume, Chapter Twenty Two.

In the previous chapter we discussed the genetic malfeasance that was prevalent in the Line Saro's greatest rivals the O'Verlan Clan. The animosity between the two lines was by this time exceedingly warm, with almost constant combat between the lines themselves and their proxies. With the Line of Saro's discovery of the of the unholy taint in the O'Verlan genetic and the seizing of the evidence of this taint the response from their Ancestral enemies was both vigorous and overwhelming.

Tainted

The distinctive sound of an Eldar Heavy weapon cracked through the dawn air once more, and the White Sword column picked up the pace, the pounding sound of their Power Armoured feet being partially drowned by the engines of the three tanks. Sergeant Levin called up the tactical net, and saw that there were no swarms of Tyranids reported in the region, so what where the Eldar shooting at? Far away in the distance another sound became audible, the snap crack of Las guns. It seemed that the Eldar had engaged either the local guard or PDF, Levin swore that the Perfidious Xeno's would pay for this betrayal.

Talaross IV

Scout Sergeant Talon looked across what would be in a very short amount of time a battlefield. Talaross IV was an Imperial world, with a small human population farming the Furca trees, odd foliage-less things that strained insects and microbes out of the air for sustenance and incidentally produced resin with strong antiseptic qualities. A small stand of them stood on the battle field, slowly turning brown and dying as they attempted to contend with microbes against which they had no defence.

Introduction

I have been a Roleplayer and Wargamer for a very long time. Most of that time I have spent as a GM writing plotlines and adventures that the players invariably find some way to derail!

A couple of years ago I decided to try and write up one of my games as a narrative, and oddly it seemed to be very popular with the people on the board where I wrote it.

Recently I have started getting back to the Wargaming part of the hobby, and have decided to attempt to write narratives of the battles that I take part in. Mainly as practice for writing, with an eye towards getting myself into the habit of writing regularly.

So I hope you enjoy the following short stories. Also if you are one of my opponents and you think I have misrepresented what happened in the battle... TOUGH! Mwuhahahah! I have the right to make my guys sound more heroic!
